A Rose For Evie

Sometimes, when you hear the phrase "Do you want a commission?", you wonder what you're letting yourself in for. Not this time, because I've already made this pattern three times - but the challenge to complete it as fast as possible was a little alarming to say the least. Of course I give myself the most ridiculous deadlines - I'd quoted ten days but was aiming for a week, what with the bank holiday and all. This took six nights from start to finish - I guess about 12hrs in all working more or less at full tilt.

And I couldn't resist a little showing off whilst I was at it - I had a spare ball of yarn left over, so whizzed up a quick matching hat as well.

I had thought I'd got cream in to do the rose - I'd misremembered and it was actually oatmeal, but I think it's come out quite nicely. Both patterns are from Crochet in No Time, which is quite possibly my favourite crochet book ever, despite some of the not-very-clear directions sometimes.

Next up...well. Mr Suns. I have lots of advance orders so I'll be busy forever!

Caroline it looks so gorgeous. I showed the picture to Evie too and she squealed approvingly! (She's such a fashionista already & I have no idea where she gets it from) I can't wait to see it in real life & I can't believe how quickly you have turned it around.

Thanks! Meg.

Lovelry top and hat. I think that is one of my favourite colours.
