...but do you think Naidie will like it?
According to K, Naidie (her pink and white cat, beneficiary of the mini granny blanket in the previous post) needed a rabbit to snuggle at night. Despite the fact that she actually sleeps in K's bed and not the toy bed, poor Naidie was bereft of a snuggly creature of her very own. So instead of working through the insane number of crochet cakes and Mr Suns I have to get done before October, this odd little creature was born. K couldn't settle on a colour - first it was red, then pink, then blue, then silver - so I figured varigated yarn might appease the capricious moggie. This is from Amigurumi World: Seriously Cute Crochet and is the first I've made from this book. In lieu of a proper review (cos I really ought to try and get a bit of work done now!), I will say that this is a pretty easy book to follow; I can see why it's so popular even though the amis themselves aren't quite to my taste and I can't quite put my finger on why. Having cut my ami teeth on Creepy Cute Crochet: Zombies, Ninjas, Robots, and More I guess it's just a little cutsy-pie for me. I like 'em morbid-leaning. Which is why Crobots has just gone on my wishlist and I'm itching to buy patterns from Lady Linoleum at Monster Crochet, I guess!
Anyway, Amigurumi World is straightforward and a good one to get started with, it seems; this rabbit took me about two hours to whip together in front of the telly (bearing in mind I've made a few hundred ami-type projects over the last year).
Now, back to work, and let's hope the bunny is both approved of and receives a name in the morning...
